What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a web page that a visitor can be driven too from marketing programs geared specifically for the page. For our purposes landing pages within the realm of marketing and advertising, it’s more common to refer to a landing page as being a standalone “Website” distinct from your main website that has been designed for a single focused objective (like Facebook ads).
Your Landing page should never have and links or navigation on it (Landing Page Best Practice). Landing ages are designed to convert. So for instants if you want phone calls, emails, form submissions etc, the page will be setup to drive more of that behavior.
There are 2 types of Landing Pages. Click Through Pages and Lead Generations pages.
Since we are a lead generation company we are going tot talk about Lead Generation Pages.
Lead generation Landing Pages are used to capture user information, such as a name and email address. The sole purpose of the page is to gather information that will allow you to connect with this prospect at a later date. As such, a lead capture page will contain a form along with a description of what you’ll get in return for submitting your personal data.
The length of your form and the level of personal data requested can have a direct impact on conversion. It’s important to keep the amount of information you are requesting to a minimum. For example, Name, Email and Phone number.
You only have a short window to get them to connect with you (About 8 SECONDS!). Make sure you take full advantage of this.
Everything used to be above the fold, and in the past it was important to only provide a small amount of information. In today’s world we want to still keep the Call-to-Action close to the top of the page, and we want the right colors for these call to actions so they stand out.
Landing pages are great for a specific program/event/seasonal promotion you are looking to capitalize on within a small window. For instance if you were going to have a huge event, that will either only occur once a year having a Landing Page for that specific event is a great idea. They work great for a PPC or Social Media campaign you are looking to drive something specific too, like an offer or product! If setup properly you can generate a higher call volume or for form submissions.
